Guest guest
Hi all. We just completed our second full day of SCD. My son is and was VERY resistent to all foods as he is used to the staples of his diet...rice milk, rice noodles, french fries, and potatoe chips. I had to use ABA techniques with video reinforcement to have him eat these foods. Oddly some foods he used to eat (like maybe two years ago) but now acts like his tongue is thrust forward and can't manage chewing or biting the foods?? Anyways the gelatin thus far has not worked getting down him but I have been successful with the chicken soup. The eggs not so much. I kind of skipped the intro diet doing as much as I could from it and went into the recipes. So far I have made the veggie meatloaf, almond bread, and the chicken crockets. I know it's not the best thing to skip the intro diet but I just didn't know what to do since most of the foods he won't or can't eat just yet (eggs, gelatin). Just looking for some support and feedback. I have been eating the foods too and feel well kind of depressed and weepy. I guess maybe this is die off for me? My son has had a bit of diahrea (one to two stools a day) that is watery for the past two days as well. He has been moody too and has developed a new kind of sound " scream " for when he is unhappy or doesn't want to do something. I am hoping that will pass. Open to comments and suggestions and helpfulness!!! Looking for support!!! Oh and my son has autism and apraxia/dyspraxia and is aged 3.7 Kristie
Guest guest
Welcome to the group. Yes, I'm sure both of you are experiencing some die off. I would encourage you to use foods from the " stages " chart on pecanbread.com under the food preparation section. Stick with the fruits and veggies in stages one or two if at all possible. This will help him get as much gut healing as possible, and clear out those bad bugs. Then, please consider going back to the intro diet as he begins to be able to eat some of those foods. You will get much better results in the end if you do the intro, and then proceed in the proper order. Meleah 2nd day of SCD Hi all. We just completed our second full day of SCD.
