Guest guest
Kris, I'm sorry you had a bad experience after surgery. When I had my last surgery - repair of a torn cartillage in my right wrist in Nov 2003, the wonderful nurse in the recovery room told me she gave me a dose of demerol that was twice what she usually gave because she had seen that I am on pain meds at home and knew it would take more to get my pain under control. If I remember right, she had the pain medicine ready just as soon as I was alert enough to speak. I didn't even have to ask for the first dose. It helped a lot at first, then I started hurting again after a while (don't know how long), but she immediately gave me another dose. She said that she wanted to make sure we got my pain under control right away because then it would be easier to keep it under control. We all know how true that is! I'm so sorry you were not treated well when you had your surgery. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
