Guest guest
Well, I have this theory that we adapt to the climate in which we were reared, in general. I think that air pollution is a big factor, extreme heat is hard on many of us, but that extreme moves to drasticly different climates on a a theory more or less is probably not a good idea. I think that the quality of medical care is a good determinant of where to live. I just remember a couple of years ago, reading on another list, about this family that uprooted themselves from Maine to Arizona, and ended up moving back as the kid kept getting dehydrated and running fevers. And, yes, the child did have cf, and the awful part was that the carrier parents and one sibling were worse off down south than they had been up North. I think they eventually finally settled a bit further south in Upstate New York. I know that when my parents moved from Detroit to Los Angeles (in the last epoch), I was never sicker--except when I was at the beach. We ended up eventually in Portland, Oregon, where I did fine and had great medical care. Just typing outloud, here--kind of comes over me from time to time! Love and luck to all of you, n Rojas, wcf, mom of 3 dazzling Adults, the youngest of whom has cf also, one of whom thinks that Denver is just heaven! (the one wcf, of course!) Hey Australians!! Hi there, my hubby and I are both qualified teachers here in Canada. We are definitely sick of the snow and every winter , our son with CF, gets sick. My question is this, what is your medical coverage like in Australia? We are very fortunate here in Canada, unlike other countries. We are discussing the idea of moving somewhere warmer and of course we have always wanted to see Australia. I am not even sure if it's possible to move there, me or my hubby would have to have a teaching job there, I would assume, before we moved. Any comments would be appreciated. Tks, Cheryl, mom to 3 boys, Zac almost 8 wocf, Jake 3 wocf, Matty almost 2 wcf
