Guest guest
No reaction is an overreaction Gwen. We don't get to plan feelings. They just happen and they're valid and they're not right or wrong..they're just feelings. This is serious stuff. I was concerned too when started posting studies, etc. Anyone in their right mind would be. But then my Dr. called it BS and told me that the information was taken out of the context of the reason we were having wls and that the studies were done on unhealthy people who had surgery to solve major medical problems... and told me that I'd done the right thing and I was able to relax. If you haven't had surgery yet and you are unsure, you might want to do some more research. This is something you need to go into sure and convinced. A few days ago someone posted some ways in which to do some more research...do that, read lots, talk to your doctor, ask questions and then decide. I lurk on several other WLS sites and you wouldn't believe the complications and problems some folks have from other types of surgeries. Makes me grateful that I went MGB. For me there was no question as to whether or not to have surgery. I'd run out of options. It was a question of which surgery. So I concentrated my reading on the different types of surgery...lap only...which narrowed the reading and research I had to do. MGB won for me hands down. I have no regrets..nodda...I'd do it again tomorrow...today...right now. But I was sure. And you need to be. Do what you need to do to be sure or do what you need to do to eliminate the feelings of unrest you are experiencing. There's no shame in having a different surgery and there's no shame in not having any surgery. Any way you go, we're with you! Guest guest
Flo, You always know just the right thing to say. I am over that now. I am very sure. I spoke with a friend today who had an open RNY and she is regretting it. Ruqayya and I just went and visited Trudy, Judy, JoAnn and all the others, today's dancers and everyone was well. Everyone was so enthusiastic about their new outlooks. I wanted to be right were they were. thank you Flo, your posts add so much to the list. Im voting Flo for president!
