Guest guest
I think this Health Key is the coolest thing...no files to keep up with, and it's small enough to fit on your keychain which you almost always have with you. Another thought I had was to create your own heatlh key for a fraction of the price. This is possible by purchasing a USB keychain thing at Wal-Mart for around $15-20. You can pretty much enter all the information that would be helpful to have with you at the ER...the same stuff that the PAI pocket card was going to include. You could also include as many of the charts, scans, labs, etc. that you would like via scanning this information into the computer and then downloading it onto the health key. I know that a physician would probably give more credit to something from an organization like Medic Alert, but I don't think that they could discredit something that has been obtained from a heatlh provider (labs, scans, etc). You could also include a letter from your gastro. doc or specialist explaining the need for medical attention and explaining the ins and outs of your situation...for example, amylase levels no longer elevate, a need for a higher dosage of pain meds due to them being used over a long period of time. Again, this is just a thought, but I would love to have all my medical info at my fingertips and accessible when needed. Let me know what y'all think!! :0)--Kim S.
