Guest guest
Still haven't figured out the best place to buy one, but looking at a review from Mercola http://www.mercola.com/article/juicer_comp.htm I think that the Omega is the better machine. I see I can buy one online from Omega for $259 US. I've e-mailed them for info on a local retailer. But if anyone knows of a Canadian mail-order company that sells them, please post the info. Guest guest
Thank you Carol. Am I right that you use the Omega juicer? Guest guest
> > Thank you Carol. Am I right that you use the Omega juicer? > That was my choice and I am so pleased. I got the Omega 8002. There are newer Omega models. There are also cheaper juicers in other brands that only make juice but the Omega can do those other things. When you amortize the yearly difference between the two types and realize you have the machine for years, the difference in price is negligible. My favorite confection (advanced on the food progression chart) is Pecan Truffle. I feed pitted Medjool dates and pecan pieces into the blank cone and out comes a tube of stiff puree. I add a touch of honey and roll the mixture into balls which can be dredged in unsweetened finely ground coconut. Using the same tube, feed in any frozen fresh or legal canned fruit and what comes out makes a rich creamy sherbet. You can add honey or yogurt to it but if Kosher or dairy free, don't even need to do that. When I occasionally cut back on calories I am tempted to sell my juicer and then realize how useful it is and of course just doing that fruit sherbet is the same as having a piece of fruit. Carol F.
