Guest guest
My son had a lot of sloping and posterior head height. He was also a " combination " baby, with a CI of 98% and 16 mm of asymmetry. He has been in two of the typical " plagio style " DOC bands for a total of 23 weeks thus far. Here is a picture of his " bad side, " taken at 21 weeks. His posterior height and sloping have certainly improved. http://i52.tinypic.com/1zbh3jk.jpg
Guest guest
My daughter had brachy, but not too much slope. Her problem was mainly extra width. However I see why the band would make the sloping worse. It makes more sense to me that it would either improve or stay the same. The band won't direct growth upwards to even out the top, however once the rest of the head is proportioned better I would think the slope would be less noticeable. -christine sydney, 4.5 yrs, starband grad > > My son is getting banded next week for brachycephaly and mild plagiocephaly. My main concern is hte slop from the top of his head to his forehead. It is quite steep. I was hoping a band would fix this but now I'm reading that the band can make it worse. > > Did anyone have a good experience with the band rounding out the top of the head? > > His photo study is in hte photo album under AJ's photo study. > > Thank you! >
Guest guest
Just keep mentioning that this is a concern of yours. that was a concern of ours as well, and while it didn't improve dramatically, it did improve a little and since I voiced concern, it was something they paid attention to each week (whether or not the band was addressing the slope).
