Guest guest
My daughter has the star band and I noticed last night that on the lower part of her head on one side she has a lump and it was red when I pulled the helmet off. It feels like there is a pea underneath her skin on her head. Has anyone ever had this happen? Just wondering what I should do and if this is normal!?! Guest guest
Yes, my son had lumps too in his 1st band. They were swollen lymph nodes! His first band was much too tight and I complained about it often. He ended up developing red spots, heat rash, and finally the lumps in the exact same spot within about 2 weeks of his 1st docband. After the lumps I refused to put the band back on him and they agreed to make him a new one. Even though they insisted it was not caused by the band. They were not that concerned either. But a swollen lymph node is a sign of infection so I took it very seriously. A physical therapist where my son goes said she had seen that before in improper fitting bands. My pediatrician said based on it's location and relation to where the band was sitting it was most likely caused by the band. But he also had just cleared up an ear infection so he said it would be hard to prove. But my son has had 5 ear infections and never had that problem again, not even in the 2nd band. I didn't take the lumps lightly, it reassured me that his band didn't fit well. It sounds like you are having the same issue with the redness and lumps. Good luck!TaraSent from my iPadOn Apr 11, 2011, at 1:43 PM, "" <rhetland4@...> wrote: My daughter has the star band and I noticed last night that on the lower part of her head on one side she has a lump and it was red when I pulled the helmet off.
