Kim, You must have just missed Elaine's brief coments that certain grain derived

oils are

legal including corn oil. BTVC page 77, edition 10)

During the 1950's we used tons of Mazola. I recall that " Fabulous Formula " diet

of corn oil,

dextrose and evaporated milk. The A.M.A. Journal reported it could drop the

patient

below the minimum protein requirement, thus upsetting the bodily nitrogen

balance and

leading to a variety of deficiency diseases. I tried it and was totally wired

and got acne.

LOL

We used to have lemon concentrate to make beverages. When my in-laws came to

dinner

one night, I accidentally used Mazola oil instead of the lemon stuff. My

father-in-law

wrinkled up his nose in disgust as his drink separated and of course, tasted

vile! I was so

puzzled until I checked the two bottles and realized my mistake.

We had a good laugh.

Many thanks to Kim, Patti & Carol for all your input and advice.

This group is such a terrific resource and I find great consolation

and inspiration knowing that I'm not alone in all this!

I didn't think that BHT would be a terrific thing to add to the

diet. It's really too bad that Diamond felt they had to add it to

their walnuts. Oh well. I'm going to play it safe and keep him as

chemical-free as possible.

Thanks again, ladies!
