Dry roasted nuts may contain starch. Cane syrup is a serious illegal. natural fruit pieces could mean anything. You could have a serious setback from this snack. Mrs.May can say it is healthy and natural etc. but she is not describing it from an SCD perspective :-) Some people who are very advanced use Larabar but only certain ones are free of illegals. We have not encouraged their use. Carol F. SCD 7 years, celiac
Guest guest
The organic evaportated cain juice is not legal. That is just a fancy word for organic sugar. The rice malt wouldn't be legal either. Meleah Rice Malt - legal or illegal A product called Mrs. Mays Almond Cruch is really yummy but I am wondering if it is legal. The ingredients are: Quality Ingredients: Premium dry-roasted nuts, toasted sesame seeds, natural fruit pieces, organic evaportaed cane juice, rice malt, sea salt It is vegan, dairy free, gluten free, etc. The only question I had was with regard to the rice malt. I didn't know if this was a starchy part of the product. I also don't know if it is less than 2% because I haven't called the manufacturer yet. Here is info. from another web site: A note from the Manufacturer. Mrs. May's is a healthy and natural snack alternative, and it tastes great! Mrs. May's is free of wheat, dairy and cholesterol so it's a great alternative to chips or confectionery. (It's all natural ingredients, the fats, carbs and calories come from nuts so they're a good fat, carb or calorie - the kind we need for proper metabolism and natural energy.) Everything you eat with Mrs. May's has a benefit, nuts are high in Omega 3 fatty acids which are good for our hearts and brains, and are a natural anti-inflammatory, and seeds are good for the circulation. All of these snacks are NUTS, SEEDS and A PURE CAIN (syrup) BINDER. There is nothing else, nothing added, all natural and good for you!! Below is some information that you may also find helpful. Guest guest
Thank you very much. I am not on SCD, my daughter is. I haven't given her any of the Mrs. Mays (but they are so yummy) and I won't either. Also ordered some Lara bars from Digestive Wellness because they said they were fine - how so I know which ones are okay? After having been on for 7 years - I thought you were supposed to be healed. Do you ever go out to eat? If so, what can you order? It is so hard packing a dinner for Chloe when our family goes out to eat. The only thing I am ever even close to sure about is the salad bar and even then there is no way to be positive. > > > > A product called Mrs. Mays Almond Cruch is really yummy but I am > > wondering if it is legal. Guest guest
Meleah, She has only been on for a little over a week. I didn't give her any Lara bars yet. I just bought them for when I can give them to her. She didn't have much of a die off at all. The only change we noticed was solid stools (for the first time in MONTHS). I kept her on the starter diet for about 3 days because it said if she tolerated everything I could go to more foods. She hasn't had any problems at all. I have been cooking her fruits & veggies and she has eaten lots of eggs. Do you ever worry about cholesterol? Some days she eats 3 or 4 eggs. I am trying to eat as much like Chloe as possible when we are at home (just so I don't have to cook multiple meals) and I have high cholesterol. I feel like we are eating eggs at every meal. The only thing I am afraid I started too soon was honey but Chloe wouldn't eat any of the starter foods (chicken, carrots, etc.) except eggs unless they have honey on them. Thanks for your help. As much as I read BtVC - I cannot seem to grasp everything! Amy > > > > > > A product called Mrs. Mays Almond Cruch is really yummy but I am > > > wondering if it is legal.
