Guest guest
We were always told that this was due to allergies. Dawn mom of 4, 8 and under, the youngest wcf Dark Under-Eye Circles Hi All, I know this has been a topic in the past and unfortunatly, I can't seem to access the archives here tonight so I'm hoping someone out there can give me any info that's already out there. Over the past week, my nearly 3-year-old son has had dark circles under his eyes regularly. This usually only occurs when he's REALLY tired and I'm stumped because he's even waking up with them these days.... and he's been well; no stuffiness, no fever and acting like himself (with the exception of this morning when I said " good morning " to him and he told me to " shut up Mom " ...nice, hugh?). Any info/thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Paige
Guest guest
Paige, Thank you for asking this question. My son has had the same thing for the past couple of weeks. I thought maybe he was not absorbing the enough of the ABDEK we are using since ADEK is on back order. I have ask the doc.. my son does not have any known allgeries, no fever and is not coughing same as your three year old. Once again, thanks for asking. Guest guest
Dear Dawn, Do all of your children have allergies? If so, do they ALL get the under-eye circles? And, besides the indoor dust-mite stuff, is there something food-wise that I should be watching for? Thank you for your reply, Paige (mom to Jack, nearly 3years old, with CF) Dark Under-Eye Circles > > > Hi All, > > I know this has been a topic in the past and unfortunatly, I can't seem to access the archives here tonight so I'm hoping someone out there can give me any info that's already out there. > > Over the past week, my nearly 3-year-old son has had dark circles under his eyes regularly. My oldest gets dark circles under her eyes terrible and I have notice that after she has had sinus surgeries they go away for a little while. Guest guest
Hi Paige, Aside from sleepiness and an infection, the dark circle could also be from dehydration. Sometimes it is easy to forget about drinking water when it is not so hot out. Count how many glasses of water he is drinking. Just a thought. Guest guest
My kids have seasonal allergies. Their dark circles come at different times of the year for all of them, except for one who seems to have them year round. For the older two (no cf) and my youngest (w/cf) we tend to use flonase. For my one who has them all the time (no cf) we use the claritin tablets for kids. A whole tablet dries her out too much, and then she ends up with bronchitis, so we usually give her only a half of one. As for food stuffs, it is always possible that he is allergic to something. Have you introduced him to anything new lately? You can with hold certain foods for a couple of weeks and then reintroduce them one at a time and see if he has any reaction to them. Guest guest
Try increasing foods and beverages that are high in potassium. Some people say that whenever they get dark circles, they take salt tablets and the circles go away. But I'd try potassium first. Guest guest
Almost all persons with allergies have this indicator; can also be true of sinusitis caused by allergies as well as by bacteria. I wound data on: Cystic Fibrosis, sinusitis, allergies -- good luck n Rojas Re: Dark Under-Eye Circles In a message dated 1/24/2004 8:11:37 PM Central Standard Time, quinn.and.paige@... writes: Hi All, I know this has been a topic in the past and unfortunatly, I can't seem to access the archives here tonight so I'm hoping someone out there can give me any info that's already out there. Guest guest
Paige, Your son's morning response made me laugh. Abby also has dark circles. The doctors have suggested that it could be... heredity, reflux, or allergies Gale > Hi All, > > I know this has been a topic in the past and unfortunatly, I can't seem to access the archives here tonight so I'm hoping someone out there can give me any info that's already out there. > > Over the past week, my nearly 3-year-old son has had dark circles under his eyes regularly.
