Guest guest
Peggy, What a sweet story. Thank you for sharing this with us. This gives us a renewed faith in mankind. Tina W., mother of , 18yo wcf I thought this was nice Hey guys, I just wanted to pass along this sweet story. On the day my son, Jonah went in the hospital last week, we passed ambulances going toward our community. Well, little did I know at the time that they were going to the home of one of my neighbors. I grew up in this area and now have built my home there, so I have known this man for quite some time. He had had a heart attack and was transported to a hospital very close to where Jonah was. My parents made trips between both hospitals while Jonah was still there. Well on Monday of this week, the man passed away. He was 82 years old and had lived a very healthy life. His wish, we found out later was for the money that would be spent on flowers for his funeral to be donated to Cystic Fibrosis Research. His son is the head of company in my hometown and my brother is also a supervisor there, so there was a collection taken up today throughout the plant. I am not sure how much was raised, but I will find out later today. This really touched my heart that someone other than family would care enough about my family to have this as their end wish. Take Care, Peggy mom of Jonah and 5yr old identical twins wcf ------------------------------------------- The opinions and information exchanged on this list should IN NO WAY be construed as medical advice. Guest guest
Isn't it nice to know that people did care. My cousin's Aunt made that same request and I was shocked! I didn't realize she even knew the kids had CF. I hope in death I am remembered for being thoughtful.........not just funny and with great wit.......I mean with a dimwit!! Rosemary in NY with 3 children (13, 11 and 7) with CF. I have a dog named TOBI and have coined the phrase " BREATHE DAMMIT " my new favorite quote is Any idiot can face a crisis - it's day to day living that wears you out.
