Guest guest
My totally un-informed opinion is that .7 is awesome. If you're thrilled with the progress and your little gal is miserable, what the hell, right? An early Christmas present for the both of you. At our visit in November Camille measured .7 off. That is nothing compared to where we started and I was confident that they would take the helmet off then. I was and still am thrilled with her head shape. The specialist stated that we could take her out if we wanted, but we could leave it on and hopefully catch the next growth spurt and be as close to fully corrected as possible. That is what we did. So.......for the last 2 days Camille has been ripping at her helmet and trying desperately to take it off, which is something that she has never done. I took it off to make sure that there were no pressure spots which there was not. After examining the helmet there are wrinkles on the inside in the forehead area which is in indicator that it is not fitting properly. You can see that all the area that was previously " hollowed out " is now filled in making me believe that we caught the final growth spurt. So.....my delimma is do I make the long hike to have a helmet adjusted for a mere 24 days of wear??? Or shall I make it an early Christmas present and just take it off and be done with it? When / if you comment, please keep in mind that it is not a matter of needing every bit of correction we can get. Guest guest
May I ask why you said that the helmet is not fitting correctly if there are wrinkles on the inside in the forehead area? My boy's helmet was always like that, I never realized that it's because it's not fitting correctly. Just wondering. Guest guest
The wrinkles are actually in the foam of the helmet. That is what I was told by our tech. I have decided to do the responsible thing and I will be taking her in tomorrow morning at 8 to be measured. If there is still correction that could take place she will continue to wear it as it is only a mere matter of days till it comes off. Still have my fingers crossed that when they measure her I will have gotten rid of the .7 difference we had in November.
