Guest guest
No.... it's not legal. ALL commercial apple juices are illegal..... especially those that are clear. The only legal apple juice you can buy is the fresh-pressed cider like you might buy at a farmer's market.... or sometimes found in the refridgerated section at supermarkets, but more likely, natural foods stores. It will be very cloudy.... unfiltered. Both apple and pear juice go through changes when processed, cooked and filtered for bottling that render them illegal on SCD. Patti Is elli's Sparkling Cider SCD legal? The only reason I ask this is because I was watching " Unwrapped " on the Food Network and the show spotlighted elli's Sparkling Cider. It is made from only apples and nothing else or so it said on the show. Carbon Dioxide is added for the bubbles. I would love to be able to have a glass of this with Christmas dinner. Thank you very much. -Ana Karina

Guest guest
Hi Cathy, You could contact them (ask at the store where you purchase it for a contact name and phone number). Ask the maker what is in it, that there are no sweeteners etc.. Guest guest
Hi guys, From our experience with " 100% juice " , it has been amazing how when I ask for a letter on the companies letter head, stating that it is pure and free of added sugars, I NEVER RECEIVE MY LETTER! I have not requested this from elli's. Someone may want to do this, after telling them that it will mean possible hospitalizatin and serious health set backs in their child. It is amazing how this gets the truth out of them. We now prefer to make our own apple juice wiht a juicer. Tastes better anyways. You can add your own bubbles and a touch of honey to make it sweeter (if you can tolerate the honey). To be honest we are very concervative, we only drink the Welche's white grape and Tropicana fresh squeezed orange juice (not from concentrate). Everything else we make ourselves. Food for thought, Antoinette and family of five (scd 2/06)
Guest guest
Thank you guys, I probably shouldn't trust the President Choice Cider. They are the grocery chain's " No Name " ...they won't tell you exactly who makes it...I can't trust what their computer says about this product. Antoinette, How do you make apple juice from your juicer taste good? The kids tell me it tastes like water...they refuse to drink it...I don't think It tastes good. Maybe I need a course on JUICING 101. Boy do the Bond kiddos miss apple juice.. Guest guest
I've found that it's cheaper in the long run to invest in a really good juicer. You can drink the juice fresh from organic produce so you really know what's in it [mine also like it room temperature not chilled which gives me control] Additionally you can use the pulp to stir into stews and casseroles or use a proportion of it in baked goods to up the fibre content. Guest guest
Hi mmcewenasker, <<... Additionally you can use the pulp to > stir into stews and casseroles or use a proportion of it in baked > goods to up the fibre content. >> It probably isn't a good idea to use this pulp especially for newbies. When you remove all the good stuff in the juice (vitamins, minerals..) you'll be left with concentrated cellulose. This concentrated cellulose can feed the harmful microbes we're trying to starve.
