Guest guest
This is Becky again, my husband Mike had a distal pancreatectomy 1 year ago. He had 75% of his pancreas removed, his spleen, 1/4 of his stomach and part of his intestine also. He was without pain for 4 months. Then he started having nausea about once a week, now he is having bouts of nausea mixed with pain 2-4 days per week. I can tell this is taking a toll on him emotionally. The good part is that the pain is not as severe as it was prior to the surgery, but he never had the nausea before. I don't know why I'm posting, I just wondered if anyone ever had the distal pancreatectomy, had pain again and then maybe in a couple of years it stopped. He of course has diabetes now and his blood sugar stays too high. It goes from the 200's to the 400's every now and then it dips lower, I have an appointment set up for him to again speak with someone about it. It has just been a 5 year battle for him and I think he is exhausted. He was so hopeful that this last surgery would remove his pain etc. Just need some information. Thanks for listening, Becky
