Guest guest
My son has been on the SC diet for 5 days now. I know he has alot of yeast because he has been having a very red and itchy bottom and it is the worst after he has a BM. The last couple of days he has been complaining about his " pee, pee " hurting. He is 9 years old. He acts like it is really painful. Could this be due to yeast die off? I am having a tough time getting him to eat vegys and fruits. He wants alot of protein, like meat, cheese, almond cookies. So I started giving him 6-8 ounces a day of cucumber/celery juice to try and balance his acidity. Previously I had mentioned he had terrible reflux, which has gotten alot better already since starting the diet and giving him apple cider vinegar and baking soda mixed. Now I am concerned about the pain in his penis. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I remember this happening along time ago and we had him checked for a UT infection, but he didn't have one. It doesn't seem to be super painful when he pees or anything. Any opinions welcomed! Guest guest
FRESH Cranberry juice made at home is good for that. We have had lots of experience with UTI's here. You could use cranberry capsules too.....It all depends on his weight. More water also.....Jenn L Re: " pee pee " hurting......... Yeast ??? My son has been on the SC diet for 5 days now. Guest guest
Try giving him warm epsom salt baths morning and night for 3 days (20 minute soak - 2 cups per tub). My son sometimes gets sore too but there is some redness around the tip. We have found that this clears it up quite well. Hope it helps you as it does us. Guest guest
I may be way off base, but this sounds a lot like what happens with the kids on the Vitamin K protocol.... as the increase in those vitamins A, D and K tends to dissolve oxalate crystals and then the body has to deal with the waste product of oxalic acid, which causes the urine to be very acidic... and their BMs, too.... both will burn on their way out. If you're using probiotics, they can dissolve those crystals, too.... I don't know about just SCD alone causing that, but it might... depends on your supplements and/or probiotics. I don't know if this is the answer to what's happening with him, but just thought I'd throw it out there. I am always wondering if this is what's going on every time someone reports a " reaction " to probiotics. The kids who have the worst symptoms seem to get a lot of relief from baking soda baths..... with LOTS of baking soda. Like 6 to 8 cups in a tub. You can buy it in bulk at Costco. Fresh lemon juice in his drink will help alkalinize, too. (Let me know if you want the link to read up more on the K protocol stuff.) Patti Re: " pee pee " hurting......... Yeast ??? Guest guest
Can you send the Vit. K link? I would like it also. Thank you, Jenn L Re: " pee pee " hurting......... Yeast ??? Guest guest
>----------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, I would appreciate the link to the Vit K protocol. I ended up giving my son 2 charcoal which seemed to really help, and also an epsom salt bath, he was fine the rest of the evening. Would the charcoal help with the oxalates to?? I may try the soda bath to if he complains about the pain again, thanks so much..
