Guest guest
My almost 3 yr old qualifies for the " special needs " preschool at our fabulous school district (one of the best in the state--yay!). He will start in April and I need to put his IEP together and figure out what to ask for. I have heard about unlimited bathroom breaks (he is still in diapers so that won't be an issue for a while), allowing him a bottle of water at all times, extra food at lunch (he is still g- tube fed so not a concern right now), nurse to give medication, etc. My question is this--since this is a preschool and they play with toys a lot. Is it too unreasonable that during the cold and flu season that the toys be cleaned everyday? (the ones that are played with). It would be ideal to have the cleaned everyday but I don't know if that is a bit too much to ask. If it is too much to ask, what is reasonable? Every other day? Monday, Wednesday & friday? Is there anything else I should ask for since this is a preschool? Thanks!! mom to Ashton almost 3 wcf
Guest guest
jennifer, nathan has been in kindermusik for over a year but we havent looked into preschool yet. his kindermusik teacher (former nurse) kindermusik is birth thru 7 yr olds. nathan is in a class of 10-12 two to three yr olds one time a week. teacher has a basket that she keeps up high on the shelf that she puts anything she has seen in a childs mouth and then cleans any instruments ,toys ,puppets etc. after each class ,classes run all day.she asks parents to give her anything that the child might have put on or near mouths also if the teacher hands out fruit snacks everyone must use antibacterial wipes first before eatting since some activities involve hand holding with other kids like ring a round the rosy. hope that helps, nathan loves his kindermusik class, around here they have to be potty trained first, and we are just starting to get that under way. so some time next fall I figure will be when we start preschool. good luck on flight to california. our clinic lets you borrow a hard travel case for traveling with the vest. just a thought. amy mom to nathan 2.5 yrs old 3 in april!
