Guest guest
, Both my Boys Sweated negative on the Sweat test but when Micah was getting worse they decided to do DNA with him and found out that he had Cystic Fibrosis. Right when we got here to Hawaii they did the DNA on Elijah and it came back with the same mutations as Micahs. The Sweat Test is a great resource but when the Kids come back negetive and child is still sick pointing towards CF DNA testing I feel should be done.Elijah went through many months of Pain and hospitalzations before we had a Dr that would test the DNA even with knowing Micah's mutaions because Elijah came back Negetive on his sweat test they left it at that and automaticaly assumed that he didn't have CF. Katy Military wife to a wonderful husband that protects our country GO 2-25 Mom to Grace 13 Wonderful helper and all around great daughter. GOD DOESN " T MAKE MISTAKES HE ONLY MAKES MIRACLES! was helping me with the question! Sorry folks, Apparently , my 12 month old, thought that I should post the message already. Again, my questions are as follow: Is it possible to have a false negative result with a sweat chloride test? Also, is it a reliable test? Are there other tests used to daignose this disease that are better. Any ideas??? Also, I will mention that was tested for a number of allergies, for which he is all negative. He has also been having trouble gaining weight (although not super skinny, he is below the 50% according to the charts.) He keeps trying to gain weight though, man can he eat!! Guest guest
Sweat chloride can be negative in the presence of cf; dna is the most re liable, provided that they do the whole spectrum; Ambry is good at this. Best of luck, n Rojas was helping me with the question! Sorry folks, Apparently , my 12 month old, thought that I should post the message already.
