Guest guest
Dana, I take it myself. I have had Clostridium Difficile in the past but have been tested many times over the past 2-3 years and always tested negative. I have only taken the S. boulardii in the last year. I don't think it would hurt. It is a non-colonizing beneficial yeast and is often used for travaler's Diarrhea as well. I go in spurts with it. I haven't taken it in a while and just started again this week and have found it very helpful again. Not sure why. Charlene Charlene, Does it hurt to take S. Boulardii if you do not know for sure that you have Clostridia but think you do? Guest guest
I started a flare up in October, had to go on prednisone and am now weaning off the prednisone. It hard to explain but I just felt that as I weaned I needed it. I am doing a very low honey almost no fruit version on SCD because I think my yeast issues popped up again. I get very bloated and then my belly-button got all infected and itchy. So on top of probiotics I decided to try the S. Boulardii for a while. when I started my flare before the prednisone really kicked in I was taking it and I found it not helpful. Once the prednisone started working and I cut back on my fructose intake, I feel that its doing something again. Hope this helps. Sometimes for me its all about helping me just turn that next corner into more consistent health. Charlene UC 8 years SCD 6 years Charlene How do you know when you need to take it.
