I just spoke to Diane, Ray Goldstein's wife, and Ray has been in the

hospital for three weeks. He is still seriously ill, but is in the

process of recovering. If you would like to send a card, the address is:

Ray Goldstein

Tulane Medical Center

1415 Tulane Avenue

New Orleans, LA 70112

He has a lot of difficulty trying to talk, so please do not attempt to

phone the hospital. Thanks. Hal

Hi: Ray lived in Louisiana, and was a rare person for many reasons

including the fact that he was one of the 2% of males with CF who

fathered children. He had a great sense of humor and never hesitated to

express his opinion. Ray was a man with compassion as he knew what it

was to suffer from this insidious disease. He was on oxygen for several

years, and as an active person was very unhappy when he became confined.

However, he remained an optimist, and was always a pleasure to know. I

felt fortunate to have become one of his many friends. Hal

To Diane, his family, and all of his friends: Phyllis and I send our

condolences and love to the family of our friend, Ray Goldstein. We

spoke, we emailed each other for many years and his loss is devastating

to us and the CF family. He was a loving husband and father, and a

fighter for every breath he took. He will always have our admiration for

his tenacity, his caring for others, and his devotion to his family.

It's a sad time for all of us. Hal
