Guest guest
Thanks for thinking about us. Gaston was certainly a huge mess. We had several trees down and took a lot of the wires with them. We got our power backyesterday evening. I would love to have the article you have about my little town. I was raised in Mt. Pleasant, just across the River from ton, which is about 30 miles from McCellanville. We had a huge hurricane here in '89. Hugo; literally wiped us off of the face of the earth. We had some extensive damage. For years every time I would hear the wind howl I would cry. That was by far the most terrifying experience of my life. Frances is already that big and is no where near landfall. She is one big bad storm and I am not looking forward to what Frances can bring. I dont wish that kind of devastation on anybody. McClellanville is a very small coastal town of about 1200. I live on 16 acres in the middle of the national forrrest and am very isolated. My driveway is 800 feet long then a turn to the right and 400 feet to the little house. Most of our land is still heavily wooded. As a matter of fact as I was leaving this afternoon to pick up the kids a small herd of deer were grazing in the orchard, even a few fawns with the spots still on them, so cute. We dont hunt so they have a safe haven here. I haven't been doing well, more pain; but I am seeing my doctor tomorrow and hope he will have some good news about the ict. Lets all hope and pray that frances gets pulled up deep in the north atlantic and becomes an iceburg. Thanks for checking on us carolina girls, Chris. I haven't forgotton I owe you a post card. Funny thing, I actually saw some last week and bought a bunch. Yours will be the first to go. Thanks Chris. Chrissy
