We cannot take Tylenol nor any other asprin/non-asprin items. I would

contact Dr. R and see if you are allowed to take Imetrex (sp?). I know that

is one of the medications we can take after surgery.

Barbara told me today that I could not have any Tylenol, Advil, etc. 2 weeks

before surgery.

Terri, I thought we could still take tylenol, because it isn't an

anti-inflamatory medication.. someone out there correct me if I am wrong.

Headaches!!!!

Hi everyone..

Can any post-ops or maybe Dr R answer this one?!?! I normally don't get

headaches very often but I've had killer ones yesterday and today... My

surgery is on the 25th so I can't take the " usual " OTC meds... Is there

ANYTHING we can do about headaches? I have a 21 month old who LOVES to

scream and screech and it don't help matters.. Unfortunately my other half

works at night so he sleeps during the day and I don't have any other family

or friends who can help me take care of <my son>... Is there ANYTHING I

can do or do I just have to bear with this until my surgery??

In my thoughts and prayers,

Terri

Christy,

Wouldn't it be great to just go away for awhile, and come back about 50 or 60

lbs, lighter. (without their help)

What a surprise, " okay Trude, where have you been? "

hee hee,

He's really a great guy, and wonderful support when I got a boo boo, so I

wouldn't dare go without him.

Maybe just on a cruise with all my MGB buddies, next Sept. though, you coming

too, Christy?

I can sympathize with you. I don't normally have headaches, but I had one a

couple of weeks ago and I finally took some aspirin and was so worried that I

had messed up and was going to have to cancel, but I called Barbara and she said

I would be okay. She told me I could take Celebrix or Vioxx if I needed to, but

not to take anything three days before my surgery so I am praying that I will

not have a headache or I will just have to suffer through it. I am not going to

jeopardize the Dance with Dr. R.

Terri,

Your question may have been answered already, but you can take

Imitrex (if it's a migraine). Don't take tylenol, advil, vioxx, or

any other anti-inflammatory, especially 2 weeks before surgery.

I've asked Dr.R this question in the past, because I get headaches

fairly frequently, even had one the night before surgery that was

making me queasy. But, the scop patch took care of the nausea from

the headache.

I used to take at least 2-4 motrin a day before surgery for

headaches, muscle aches, etc. Now, I only take an imitrex if I get a

migraine.

Hope you're feeling better soon. See 'ya on the other side!

Sincerely,

Bernardine
