Dear !

I thank you very much for answer and welcome. I had

almost resigned, that anybody would react on my

question...

The real cause of my acute pancreatitis isn't known

yet.I am still in the phase of diagnostic procedures.

CT shows normal structure of pancreas. It is possible,

that AP occurred because of the 'sand'

(microlithiasis) in gallbladder, what was revealed by

US.

D. 29th Oct. I should have MRCP since I have refused

the ERCP, being afraid of a new AP flare...

My gastronterologist recommends me a strict non - fat

diet (no alcohol, naturally), enzymes and analgesics.

Practically, I am on 20 to 40 grams of fat daily.

At the moment, I can’t stop smoking. On the contrary,

being in distress I smoke even more than before the

AP. In this group I have namely read, that some

sufferers got the first AP attack after

cholecystectomy!?

Basically, I am not afraid of operation itself, more

of anaesthesia and of new AP attacks

Again, I appreciate very much your answer and I

certainly will keep posting about my condition and

test results.

Dear Joze,

I hope they find the cause of your pancreatitis soon. I understand your

reluctance at having an ERCP. They can cause flairs, but that test is the one

that finally found my problem. My problem NEVER showed on any other tests. They

always have to go down for my problem. I hope they can get the answers you need

thru the MRCP. Again welcome and please let us know how your tests come out and

how you are doing.

Love,

dear Joze

I was reading your post and you asked about CP or AP that has to do with the

Cholesesesctomy. I can tell you that I had that done the MD's swore that I

needed to get it down with in the next 24 hours or sooner or I would DIE so I

didnt want to die so I said OK lets do it and sure enough after the surgery is

when everything started and that was when I was 20 and now i am 28 and still

getting worse. So as for those surgeries or anything like that I am scared to

death of them. I have had so many ERCPs and I have gotten sick on everyone I

mean in the hospital sick as a dog and worse but the last one was the one that

took the cake. I had the ERCP and I told the GI doctor afterwards that I was in

pain and somehting was wrong. He said oh ok give him another 50 of demerol and

send him home. later on about 1am i woke up with the worst pain in my life, I

was rushed to the hospital by my co workers ( IM a Paramedic) so they thought it

was great. I couldnt talk walk or anything. The ER doc said i need to slow my

breathing down or they are going to intubate me but i didnt care i couldnt

control it. and he went to do the physical exam and he couldnt touch me i was in

so much pain he said ok lets give him the meds and then we will do it. They gave

me 150 demerol IV with Visterol. Well i didnt remember anything but being

wheeled upstairs on the bed. my lab were in the 7000 and 8500 range my doc said.

I was in the Hospital for 7 weeks not able to move or do anything. I was getting

125 demerol every 2 hours and that wasnt helping much when I wanted to move. I

had the RN assistants trying to change my bed and me, OH MY GOD talk about pain

wow they dont know what the hell there doing. Anyways i was let go after the

flare up and I was septic. and i went home I was at the CVS filling my scripts

like 7 of them and I threw up all over the pharmacist. well i called the doc and

I was back in the hospital for another 3 and 1/2 weeks. same thing. I honestly

thought I was going to die. The Doc my doc came in the next day and said oh i

didnt even know you were here we called your house to check on you and I guess

you not doing to well huh? LOL and he said you kind of lucky you got in here

when you did if you were to wait anymore you would have died. So as for those

proceedures I am scared to death of them and I am supposed to get another one

done with another stent but i have been putting it off because i am scared. Well

i have rambled enough but i can tell you that those proceedures and surgeries is

scarry. Well if you want moer or specifics i can tell you more, THanks.
