Guest guest
I was hoping someone has had it done or is also considering and has some advice for me. Thanks St. louis, MO , I saw your message and wanted to share our experience with the TP/ICT. My son, Joey, was diagnosed with pancreatitis when he was 5. He had so many complications and was hospitalized sometimes for well over 100 days a year. His pain was uncontrollable, and the doctors really tried everything. The last 2 years before his surgery, he was completely unable to eat (he lived on TPN) and was on a Demerol pain pump which infused narcotics constantly and still he had unbearable pain. 2 years and 5 months ago, at age 12, he had his TP/ICT. It wasn't done in MN. He had it done at Boston Children's Hospital which was our home away from home. I can't begin to tell you what an enormous difference it has made in our lives. Joey has doubled his weight and grown over 1 foot. He is completely free from pain and is not diabetic. His sugars are normal. He is happy and healthy and enjoying his freshman year in high school. We really consider this a miracle. I know that not everyone has the same outcome, but I just wanted to share with you, our experience. If you want any more details, feel free to ask. If you would like, you can email me personally. Suzanne (Joey's mom), MA
