Amy,

I'll let Carol's answer on the Larabars stand. Definitely advanced.... and then

it's something we can't officially declare to be " legal " .

<<Found 365 organic very berry fruit strips at Whole Foods. Much easier

to eat than the fruit leather. Ingredients: organic apples, organic

natural flavor, fruit juice concentrates (strawberry, raspberry, lemon,

blueberry and/or cranberry). Legal or illegal?>>

For basically the same reasons, I would not recommend you use these. I don't

feel comfortable with anything like this for ANY SCDer..... but especially not

a beginner. At the point where you're really ready for dried fruits, you'd need

a letter from the company, guaranteeing that nothing but what's listed is EVER

added.... not the slightest speck. Even then, it's a " use at your own risk " kind

of a thing. We just really don't have many pre-made products we can use.

<<Lunch or Deli meats - I cannot find any legal versions. I have looked

at Whole Foods and thought I found some only to find that carageen is

illegal. Any suggestions?>>

Sometimes the meats they slice for you in the deli section *can* be legal.....

as opposed to the packaged lunch meats. Other than that, I can only suggest you

roast your own.... beef roast, turkey breast, meatloaves..... and slice it

thin once chilled.

<<Recipe site - is there a recipe list serv?>>

There is a recipe website: http://www.scdrecipe.com/ .... and someone posted

the link to the Yahoo group ( " SCD recipe creators " is the name, I think??) the

other day. I don't have the link.... and have never been over there.

<<Finally - can you give too many (much) probiotics? I think I read that

you should only take 3billion per day? Chloe takes the one from

Kirkmans and I think it has 3 billion per day. She also eats about 1

cup of goat yogurt per day. Is this too much? Should I cut out the

Kirkmans?>>

No, you should keep both. Elaine's reference to 3 billion a day was directed at

supplemental acidophilus. She recommended both yogurt and the supplement. We

have uncovered an old message from her that talks about going up to 9 billion a

day after some time has passed.... so we're not quite sure which it's supposed

to be, 3 billion max or 9 billion max. I cup a day of goat yogurt.... sounds

fine. When did you introduce the yogurt, though? How long has she been on SCD?
