Guest guest
Message: 7 Date: Tue, 24 Oct 2000 14:32:15 -0700 (PDT) In reference to your message: it will be unusual to experience these kind of things again. It's normal now to go into a room and look around and see if you are the biggest person. Most times I am. You can see it in people's eyes how they feel about you. Often I turn around cause I can feel the eyes bearing holes through me. It so exists when you go to the mall or have to ask others for help. (remember the 20/20 edition with the lady doing an experience in the fat suit, to see how it felt? Amen, Sister!) Another thing, most people must believe that fat people are deaf also, the way they saw ANYTHING within earshot. I don't think I will too quickly forget that uncomfortable feeling and ever make fun of others. (Had to get my 2 cents in Jon) It is too painful to forget. I can see some of the worries from the patient manual on depression coming to light. What an incredible change to lose a person or two and still be able to see yourself in the mirror? I'll still have to work on my " fat head " mentality after Dr. R. is through. Larice Pre-op Subject: Re: Someone asked for these -- Hey Trudy! Yeah... I got a BIG head now! LOL You can't tell much of anything now days! It amazes me at how men swarm to me now...sometimes it makes me want to slap them though. If you can tell at all, I was lucky enough to hava figure underneath all that fat, so... Men tend to touch first b-4 speaking now and I HATE THAT!!! UGH! I am living up the single and thin life to the fullest though. Getting some professional pics made this week. I will post them. The last link of me in the sundress was at 7 months and 175lbs. I have lost 15 more lbs since then and dropped another size. Thanks to all of you for the ego boost! LOL MIchelle

Guest guest
Hugs Marg! We have missed you! Thanks for checking in. I stood in your same shoes. My insurance company denied me and I was crushed. I saw all the other people getting approval and dates and while I was thrilled for them, I was so sad for myself. I finally just said, What the Hell! And self paid. My total was close to $10,500. If you come to that point, email me and I will fill you in on my experience. Please post often, you are such a positive influence. Guest guest
Hang in there, Marg. Your day will come as long as you persist. And Dr. R has some flexibility regarding age. I read of one who had it at 57 or 58, and I am going to have it 11-3, and I am 56. So, just keep plugging away. There are people here who have great appeal letters and info, as does Dr. R's office. If you ask for help from the folks on this site, you'll surely get it! Keep your chin up and good luck ! PhillyJude
