Raw milk is illegal in Ontario, Canada so I have used pasteurized goat's milk

for years. We

have to heat it to 180 anyhow to kill the bad bacteria. Raw milk must come from

an

impeccable source or there is risk of disease. I know that many of you swear by

it but I

find the Canadian government is more scrupulous about these things despite our

couple

of cases of mad cow.

.... Either one is perfectly legal on SCD. The grocery store goat's milk

won't be as good quality-wise as what you've been buying.... starting with raw

milk is great, because even though of course you essentially pasteurize it when

you make yogurt, it's just better milk to start with. It's fine to use, though.

I won't be able to go to the one place I know of that

sells raw organic goat milk. Which is the better

alternative for making SCD yogurt: organic

pasteurized and homogenized cow milk (Organic Valley)

or conventional pasteurized (and, I assume,

homogenized) goat milk? Both at Whole Foods.

Please give me your opinion.

,

I strongly advise parents whose children have PDD or autism spectrum

disorder to start out with goat milk. Most children with ASD or PDD

tolerate goat milk better.

Later, you might switch to raw cow milk.
