Guest guest
Hi Donna, Another example of one of my pet peeves with Doctors! Failure to inform the patient of the results of diagnostics. Yes, I would say that you need to ask your PCP about this. Both to get information that may be important and to let her / him know that you were never informed about these results and that you find that unacceptable (maybe not so harshly though). As far as the results themselves.....this is just a guess on my part so take it as that....but both masses are relatively small and many people have irregularities in the liver. Lots of times they are just fatty cysts or other normal occurences due to aging, weight, meds, etc. If your LFTs are normal then this is most likely nothing to be too concerned about right now....but of course, you need to hear that from your physician. Both for your own peace of mind and to make sure that your physician is even aware that these were found on the CT scan (In my experience, if your doctor doesn't tell you it means that he doesn't even know about them - that he never bothered to look at the results - that he just figured that because the radiologist didn't flag it that it was a normal scan. This happened to me twice, and both times it was a significant oversight that lead to surgery or multiple ERCPs - so you can see why this is a pet peeve of mine!) As far as the adrenal mass - again that needs to be addressed by your doctor. Although statistically it may be benign...there is still a chance that it could be affecting your gland (by it making too much or too little adrenaline for example). But that can only be figured out and answered by your doctor. Again, maybe these are common with your history etc...but any abnormality seen in a CT scan should be mentioned to the patient. Even if it is to say " oh, we saw this, but it is normal, lots of people have them, I wouldn't worry about it but you should know that it is there. " type of thing. The pancreas findings, I am figuring, you know about, right? That you have a confirmed diagnosis of CP....... Laurie
