Guest guest
I'm so wanting to get started... this other side you know, before surgery ... really sucks when you get so close to surgery you can taste the reflux... ! I don't want to eat anything. and then I want to eat everything thinking it may the last time I'll be able to have that. Whatever I do is wrong, cuz if I don't eat , I'm depressed and don't want to leave the house (fat), but if I leave the house (especially to eat) then I'm depressed because now, I don't really need to get any bigger before surgery... By the way I've gained 3 lbs, in just one month, call it nerves, or saying good-bye the only way I know how, with food in my mouth. Maybe if my friend Jude was on here the same time I am, she could talk me out of eating... LOL Good going Stormy!! Trudy Two Month Report... Hi All. Congratulations to all of the new post-ops and to those of you who have insurance approval and dates. I have been at the hospital caring for my Mom-in-law and have not been able to post my two month report, but here it is... I AM DOWN 50 POUNDS!!! I can't believe it. I am not following any diet, just eating what I feel like eating. I don't dump on anything, so I do eat fats and sweets. I find that I don't really want much of them though. My tastes have changed a lot. I do notice that I eat much more some days than others. I did not want to weigh this morning, because I knew that I have not been able to eat the right foods while caring for my Mom the last couple of weeks. I've been eating plenty, but most of it has been out of the vending machine at the hospital. I have been on a plateau for a while, so I thought that I probably had not lost but low and behold, a three pound weight loss leaves me at 50 pounds lost. I was just starting to buy size 24's before my MGB, but I wore an old pair of my size 20 jeans this week. I'll be in 18's before long and I'm thrilled about that. I hope that all of you are well and want you to know that I read the list as often as I can to keep up with ya'll. If I can help anyone in any way with your quest for surgery, please email me. Guest guest
Hi Trudy, I know what you mean about the eating before surgery thing. I had a full year to over-eat while waiting for my insurance approval. I kept justifing my eating by telling myself that any day now I would have my insurance approval and be able to lose any weight that I gained while waiting. One year and thiry pounds later, I finally got my surgery. If you are close to your date, I say EAT anything that you want. I have not felt deprived at all since I am able to eat anything without dumping, but you may be one of those who dumps on your favorite foods so by all means EAT, EAT, EAT!!!! That's just my opinion, of course, but you won't do too much damage if your date is nearing. Best wishes. Guest guest
NO, Stormy, it aint that easy Sweetie, you see I weigh 338 now, and that's scarey cuz, Dr. R don't do anyone over 350, I guess, and I'd just want to choke myself with a chicken bone, if I went over the weight limit.. understand. So, wish me well, and that I don't make a glutten out of myself..LOL Trudy( I am hoping for an early Nov. date, tho) Fingers crossed. Guest guest
Same here, I started this process in February, and have gained weight. Now that I know I will going in January I am backing off a little (I think) I don't want to gain anymore. I was 292 at clinic in February and now I am 313, I think thats enough I am only 5'1 " . I think this happens to alot of us. On the other hand, I have spoken to some of my contacts who started exercising and dieting prior to surgery so they would be in optimum shape for surgery. This whole food issue is very confusing. , Denver, NC > > I'm so wanting to get started... this other side you know, before > surgery ... really sucks when you get so close to surgery you can > taste the reflux... ! Guest guest
, One of the things I promised myself is that I would NOT gain a significant amount of weight before surgery - and I didn't. I decided that realistically there was nothing that I won't ever be able to eat again (just not in the same quantities) and that even if there was something it wouldn't be the end of the world! Take it easy on yourself. on MGB 10/04/00 Preop 275 10/10/00 269 > > > I'm so wanting to get started... this other side you know, before > > surgery ... really sucks when you get so close to surgery you can > > taste the reflux... !
