Hi ,

Sorry for taking a few days to get back to your post. Anyway,

Elavil is an anti-depressent but taken in small doses, it calms down

the digestive tract. I take only 20mg at bedtime and it helps me

sleep pretty good. You might want to ask your doctor about trying

it. As for me, Percocet only made things worse after my first

sphincterotomy. I don't know why, but it gave me a stomach ache and

pain during bowel movements. When I switched to demerol, all the

stomach pain went away. Percocet, Darvecet, and others in that line,

don't agree with me for some unknown reason either. That may be the

cause of some of your pain. I also did better while taking Oxycotin

(20mg) twice a day for the first month after my second

sphincterotomy. That drug is pretty powerful, but it definitely

took all the pain away and helped me to regain my strength. Also,

the CP causes malabsorbtion, which means the body is NOT absorbing

nutrients properly ,i.e. (calcium, and other vitamins). Also with

Celiac Disease, the small intestines don't absorb nutrients either

because of the damage to the villa. Since both of those diseases

cause problems absorbing calcium, that can lead to osteopenia or

osteoporois. I asked my family doc to run a bone density scan since

I was recently diagnosed with the celiac and also have had the

pancreatic problems. I was very surprised to find out that I had

osteoporosis already. But, now I am glad that I requested the test

because I can do something about the bone loss before I end up with

a broken limb. I used to take Actonel which slowed the process of

bone loss, but now I take a new drug called Forteo. It is injected

under the skin once a day for 2 years then you stop. New bone

growth has been reported in about 3 months time. It's not for

everyone, but is a great tool for those who already have severe bone

loss (osteoporosis). Well, I guess that's all for now. I hope I

answered some of your questions. I also hope that you will find

some much needed relief for your pain, real soon.

Take care

Kris in TN
