MGB - Working on my package

Hi Everyone,

I am new and working through getting my info together and I would love

some help. I have made some contacts directly, but I am specifically

interested in knowing if there are any post-ops who have since had children.

I am 34 and single and very interested in having a family someday (sooner

than later at this age) and would love to know about a pregnancy post-MGB.

If you could email me directly, that would be great.

I am also going to be an out-of-state patient and probably self-pay.

My grandmother, who was overweight her entire life until her late 70's,

wants to help me pay for it. I have already been denied and it could

take forever to get approval and I am ready to go for it.

Oh, also, I am also interested in getting some feedback from someone

who is a couple years out of post-op if you are out there (or know someone

who is). That is the kind of information that is not posted in the contact

list.

I have done a great deal of research and I am ready to live again. I

have most stuff done, just need my full physical, the doctor letter and

to finish my contacts and I am ready to submit.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Mara

Welcome Mara,

You are in a good place and will get lots of help here. I am also pre-op, so

can't answer any post-op questions yet. But I wish you well on your journey.

Mara,

Great questions! I am also single, 28 yrs old... wanting to have a family

some day also. When I wen to Clinic on 10-17-00. Dr. R mentioned that he had

about 15 or so of his patients that have gotten pregnant, and had no

problems. My mother went to clinic with me... that was one of her worries...

She wants to be a Grandmother so bad!!:o)

Welcome Mara. I am only almost one month post op and have already had my

children but this group of people are fantastic at providing information. I

am sure you'll get the responses you are looking for. When I was in the

hospital I met Cathy who was one of the first MGB patients - she would be a

great contact but I can't remember her email. I know it has the word apex

in it. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Best Wishes on Your Journey.
