Teena,

You don't have to use any dairy on SCD. It's not a requirement.

Be sure to check out the www.pecanbread.com website. There is more information

there about dairy free SCD.

You will just want to be sure you're including a supplement of l.acidophilus if

you're not using the SCD goat yogurt. Do you know for sure that your son can't

tolerate goat dairy?

We always suggest SCD yogurt made with goat milk for kids that were CF prior to

SCD.... but only IF the parents want to incorporate the wonderful healing

benefits of the yogurt. The fermentation process changes the goat casein

molecules, rendering them much more digestible. It's something that many

families decide to try after a few months on dairy free SCD.

getting started dairy-free

Hello. I am Ben's mom. Ben is three and a half and currently classified

as Autistic-like. He has been GF/CF for two months, but now is showing

signs of corn and soy sensitivity, so we're making the switch. We

always knew he had trouble with milk, so I don't really want to include

it in the diet, at least until later on. Where can I find information

on a milk free version of the diet? I've heard it exists, but haven't

been able find anything.

Thx

Teena,

Start with the Intro Diet and do not use Dry Curd Cottage Cheese or Cheesecake

on the

intro. Later in the diet you can make yogurt from nuts. You can use coconut oil

instead of

butter as it spreads.

Dairy is not mandatory on this diet. However, I encourage you to read about how

the

yogurt in particular enhances chances of success.

Use of goat dairy yogurt and other approved dairy products like cheeses listed

in BTVC

made with cow milk are optional.
