I used distilled water the first year after becoming chemically sensitive as it was all I could tolerate but was able to tolerate spring water in time. Distilled water lacks minerals. > > should we be giving him organic fruit leather too? is it too soon to > be letting him have raisins or fruit leather? 6 mos now on diet. The fruit leather does not contain sulfites and may be easier for the child. Dried fruit really is advanced and Elaine said to only have it occasionally *if tolerated.* > > also, which eggs are legal? there are so many kinds of egglands and > organic, i am confused. > I use ordinary eggs b/c the Omegas have a fishy taste. Free run are preferable to conventional but our supermarket now only carries Omega from the farm that supplied the free run. It is strange that Omega eggs are " overpackaged " in plastic. Carol F. Guest guest
Any eggs are legal. If you're most comfortable with organic dairy, produce, ect., and can afford it, then use it by all means. Organic is not required on SCD however, and thank the Lord because I couldn't possibly afford it. We do as much organic as we can, but we're limited to organic animal products. If we added in organic produce, we'd be destitute quite literally. My personal opinion is that it is a bit too early to be using dried fruits. How does he seem to be both behavioral and bowel wise? Guest guest
any eggs are legal as stated previously - what we are buying right now are the organic / free range / cage free / antibiotic free There are some brands that are cage free but have the antibiotics, etc. We were having " gas " with the cheap traditional eggs - now we have no gas with these. Since we are eating so many eggs right now we chose to make this our " organic " splurge. Our regular grocery store carries these. I've been searching for grass fed butter but even the health food store does not have it. They have organic but I want grass fed. W. Guest guest
, I order grass fed butter from a dairy co-op out of Minnesota. I found their info on eatwild.com. I can't remember if it was in the Minnesota or multistate listing, but they will ship to you. I wish I could remember the name, but I can't because I also ordered grass fed, raw cheese from another farm in Minnesota who does not sell their butter. I bought 8lbs. of butter because it has a flat shipping rate due to a standard sized packaging. I just keep it in the freezer, and pull out a pound as needed. It may have been called Pasture Perfect, but I can't say without looking up the web site again.
