Guest guest
I had forgotten that you have had a gastric bypass. I dont think you can have an ERCP if they did your bypass by using a roux-en-y route. I dont know if there is another route anyway...lol. I think an EGD is still possible after a roux-en-y because if doesn't go all the way past the stomach. That is how the celiac plexis blocks are done, I think. I am trying to remember. Where did you have your bypass done? How long ago was it? Have you ever had a MRCP? Chrissy
Guest guest
Chrissy, Yep I had the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. I have had an endoscopy done. It was after my first attack in Sept. of 2003. Well, that was the first attack that someone actually knew what was wrong with me. Before that they thought I was passing kidney stones. ( I have passed 9 and didn't go to the hospital) I have an extremely high tolerance for pain and it gets me into trouble. I don't always go to the doc when something is wrong because I think it is no big deal. My doc says he hopes to goodness I never have a heart attack because I won't go to the doc. Anyway, I have had an MRCP. It was done in Augusta. My gastric bypass was done in Lexington SC with Dr. Glen Strickland. They assure me my gastric bypass had nothing to do with the pancreatitis. My gastric bypass was in July of 2003. My brother is having some problems now and they are telling him it is IBS but I am thinking he may be starting with CP also. He is 40, I am 38. So maybe this is heriditary??? Who knows! Any of you have family that has the same problems?
