Guest guest
Sharon, I know how mad you must be. This happened to ME with years ago. She was only 4. I knew she had pneumonia. We went to the ER around 6pm. (the hospital we had to go to was 15 miles away and in another town at the time). We sat there until 10pm before we were seen. The dr listened to her chest and said it was nothing... he started to walk away. Well,... I insisted on xrays. Needless to say he fought me. Calling me an over reacting mom etc. This wasted a good hour. I told him I wasn't leaving. He let me sit there for another hour and finally ordered the xrays. That took forever too. When he finally came in he stood a good 10 feet away and said she had double pneumonia and he would prescribe an antibiotc. By this time it was after 2am. I wanted him to give her a shot or just one dose of antibiotic until I could get the RX filled. He refused. I had to go to the REALLY bad part of town that had the only 24hr drug store with a 4 yr old at 3am with a 103 fever and double pneumonia.. in the dead of winter. It was the worse experience I ever had. Well, now that I wrote a book, I just wanted you to know that I would be furious too. I'm so glad your daughter took her back. Let us know how she is doing... hugs
Guest guest
Sharon, I went through the same thing with my youngest daughter. Told me it was Athsma, gave her a treatment and sent her home. 24 hours later she was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. Praying will be fine. Sandy -- granddaughter misdiagnosed Talk about incompetent docs---I am ready to go tomorrow and kick some butt, big time. My daughter took my oldest granddaughter in yesterday because kept coughing. Her original doctor wasn't there so she saw some other one. She listened to Ashely's chest and said, well it does sound like you have a respitory infection but not bacterial?????? So she gave her nebutal treatments and sent then home with it saying she was to inhale this four times a day with 2 puffs at a time. She's only 6! was up all night and started having chest pains this morning and couldn't breathe. My daughter took her right in and saw her regular doctor. She said it sounds like pnemonia and sent her for chest ex-rays. You know, something that quack number 1 should have done in the first place. Anyway, sure enough, she does have pnemonia. You don't even want to know how angry I am with that doc. So, just think if she wasn't brought back what would have happened!!!!!!!!!! I have just had about enough with some of these quacks. I'm glad my daughter took control of the situation and insisted she see her doctor and NOT the other one! Sorry for rambling on but thanks for listening.
