Hello, to call you pre-op's ! I don't post much, but I do read all your posts.

I had my surgery 7/26/00 so I am a 3 month post op. I am fifty years old, had

Adult Onset Type II Diabetes at the time of surgery.

Today, I did my 3 month weigh-in and I have lost 42 lbs and 8 inches off my

waist. I was 250 lbs, now I'm 208............My waist was 50 in and now its

42 (almost)....Size 24W to size 16W (sometimes a 14-16W). My BMI was a 40 &

now it's 33 ( I think).

The best thing of all is that I NO LONGER HAVE DIABETES.......my blood sugar

is normal and I have no medications for the diabetes anymore.

The only time I have an acidy stomach is when I take the vitamins before

bedtime and go to sleep right away.....Now I take a vitamin, citrucel and

actigall after dinner.

I've been eating all foods except milk....I drink the lactose free milk now

and I'm fine.

If you need a contact, email me and I will reply asap.

Thank you Dr. R !!!!!!!!!

Thanks Jane. I go in for MGB one week from today. Imagine, on Valentine's

day, I could be 50 pounds lighter! Just blows my mind. Life is SWEET!!!

Your info is so meaningful to us wannabes! Keep up the good work and keep

posting! Fondly, PhillyJude

Hi there! I am in the process of getting contacts. Would you mind telling me how

your surgery went? Did you like Dr. R and his staff? Did you have to travel to

get there and if so, could you recommend a place?

Thanks...It sounds like you are doing wonderfully. I hope to be doing as well

when I get my surgery!

3 month Update

Well everyone, it's been 3 months and it seems like forever. I

started this process back in February, was finally approved in July

and had the MGB on 8/4/00. I have lost 60 lbs and 91 inches. Of

course I keep wishing for more. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever be

satisfied. The support from this group and from all the post ops

have been wonderful. Thank you all for being there for me! God

Bless and Take Care!!!
