Guest guest
I had my surgery back in Feb,2000. At that time I was very frustrated about having the psych eval. I was one of the ones who encouraged him to drop it. Given some of the problems he's had in the past I understand why he must reinstitute it. If this helps use it. 1) Go in strong, remember the eval. is assessing your competence in understanding the risks and make decisions. 2) You ARE NOT asking if it's okay or their permission. Make that clear upfront and that you will need a letter stating your competence. 3)The other reason for the eval. is so that you have a contact person in the event of post-op depression, which is very common! Make that clear upfront, also. Hope this helps. Maybe he can screen those that are carrying assualt weapons/militia members better....(by the way she's sending me hate mail already!) I guess she's not too sick to harrass people? Osler MGB2/21/
Guest guest
Hi everyone, I've seen the recent postings regarding the psych eval. I have started my packet, but will probably not have it in before Dec. 1st. Can someone who had to do this before tell me exactly what it is supposed to be. Is it some particular test? Is it a letter of support from a psychiatrist? I checked the website, but the requirements haven't been updated yet. I have been taking anti-depressants (zoloft) for about 5 years. I have a regular on-going relationship with a psychiatrist. Even though it wasn't required, she had already planned to write a letter of support for me, because of my history of depression. Will this fit the requirement? I hope someone can answer this. I am scared to death to e-mail or call Dr. R's office, but with the holidays coming, Dr's appointments are going to be hard to get and I want to get it taken care of. I hope someone can help.
