Guest guest
Hi There, My yogurt temp varies between 110 and 120, does that mean the good stuff is dead? Should I return the product? Bought it on line. Will check with another thermometer but let me know about the temp., please. Amy
Guest guest
Each starter has it's own temperature maxiumum.... it depends on whether yours contains l.casei, probably.... which can't withstand that high of temp. Other strains are okay up at 120 F. My Yogourmet starter says that fermentation temp can't go above 122 degrees F, or the bacteria will die. Are you measuring the temp in the center of the yogurt itself? Or in the water surrounding the inner batch container? Which yogurt maker did you buy? Guest guest
When I am making goat yogurt in my yogurt maker, the thermometer reads 110 to 120 when I stick it in the middle of the yogurt. In addition, three times while the yogurt is fermenting, the lid has popped off. The inner and the outer lid. Is this normal? Guest guest
No... it's not normal for the lids to pop off. I've never had that happen, but again, I have to ask which yogurt maker did you buy? And what starter are you using?
