Guest guest
Well speaking from experience, the ERCP causes me tremendous pain for approximately 4-6 weeks. Then SLOWLY I start to recover. For being an outpatient procedure and being such a small cut, you would think that you'd be fine in a couple of days. You can also call Dr. Lehman's nurse and she will tell you that it is normal to have alot of pain. Also Dr. Lehman would probably call you back personally. He did that for me and also called me back personally yesterday to discuss any further treatments. In my previous post I wrote that he (Dr. Lehman) and I decided to leave things alone (with my insides) for awhile. I was soooo happy that I didn't have to have another ERCP anytime soon. I was dreading the thought!! I also told him that I was doing really well as long as I took the pain meds regularly. Well of course today, that theory proved wrong and I ended up having a bad pain day. I am still recovering, just trying to sit still at the computer and no eating very much. Thank goodness for yogurt. I seem to be able to eat that without too much pain. What are you taking for pain?? Did Dr. Lehman say that you had to come back at all?? If you want, you can email me offline. I hope tomorrow brings more relief for you. Take care. Kris in TN
