i have a salton, and i never have put water there. i think those

instructions are for other yogurt makers.

Thank you! I'm rather un-domestic and was afraid of making it wrong.

Most yogurt makers instruct you to add water to the main container, into which

you place the inner batch container that holds the yogurt itself. This helps to

keep the temp consistant, etc. But, yours could be different... I don't know. I

have never used that particular one. The instruction book that came with your

maker should tell you whether you do or don't put the batch container into a

water bath.
