I've been smoking for 35 years, too, and know I need to give up this last vice. I just don't WANT to! I come from a family of smoker's.....yes, every single one of them, husband, children, stepchildren, daughter in law, son in law and sisters in law....every single one of them, even my 81 year old father.........there is no support or help for me there. I WILL do it someday, but I believe I'll need to go away somewhere alone by myself to get it done. I left behind alcohol by stopping " cold turkey " , and had no trouble whatsoever, but quitting smoking is a true obstacle for me. You've added years to your life, and I admire you for your strength. Good luck with your surgery, and get back with us soon. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
