Guest guest
Just wanted to introduce myself. Gosh, after reading som eof teh Member Stories on the website I really feel for you all. I don't even know if this is the right group for me, but after posting about Sphincture of Oddi on a Yahoo Gallbladder Group, someone suggested I come here, so here I am. I guess I should start with my story: I started having right sided pain back when I was pregnant, but my Dr kept telling me that it was just my baby's foot poking me in the ribs. On March 26th 2002 I had my wonderful son Tyler via a C section after a very difficult and long unsuccessful labor. My right sides pain continued after my son was born, but I just chaulked it up to the fact that I also have Endometriosis. A year ago I had my second Lap for my Endo, which was uneventful, and seemed to help...for a while. I started having severe pain, in my " usual " Endo places - lower left side, but also in my upper right side as well, ,right below my breast. My Dr thought it was Gall Bladder " colic " and ordered an Ultrasound which was normal. My 3rd Lap was preformed Sept 1st, which since teh Dr did so much - stapled up my uterus, which was stuck to teh back of my pelvis, rearranged my intestines, shortened teh legiments of my bladder, removed a cyst on my left overy, and removed all visible Endo - I was in severe pain afterwards, and kept over night, on a PCA Morphine pump. It was a long recovery, ,and a few weeks after surgery, I had a severe pain attack on my right side. Later that week my Dr refered me to my GP who who sent me for a Hida Scan. It showed my Gall bladder was at 35% which was on teh bottom of the normal range. A Gen Surgon removed it on Oct 27th, and it was a very easy surgery, in fact, I felt wonderful afterwards, even though 2 hours after surgery a nurse delivered me my dinner plate, which was a greasy hamburger steak, mashed potatoes and butter, cake with icing, and soggy looking veggies. Hmmmm..... I ended up drinking some fruit juice lol. Then the Lap incision started getting infected, and drained, and a few weeks later a stitch popped out, and it healed just fine. Then I start getting these new pains. The are in my chest this time, starting more on teh left side, but gradually get so bad I feel it in my back. It's liek I woudl imagine a heart attack to feel like. They come on suddenly, and is a crushing severe pain. I can compare it only hard labor pain - without an Epidural, lol. Once I even passed out on teh bathroom floor. It's over in 20 to 30 minutes, and I am left feeling very sore and naseated. I usually break out in a cold sweat during one of these " attacks " I have gotten these pains after a big meal, and after I have eaten nothing all day, they don't seem to have a pattern. My Gen. surgon sent me for blood work up, which came back that one of my Liver enzymes was elevated. He said he thought I had Spincture of Oddi syndrom and sent me for another Ultrasound and another Hida scan. I don't know the results of these tests, as I go back to see him this Thursday. I am sick of being sick. My husband and I want to start TTC, ,but I want to make sure I am 100% before I get pregnant, for teh sake of the baby. I am always so tired, and achy, and my joints hurt so I walk liek an old person, ,lol. The pain attacks come a few times aweek, and make me afraid to do anything - ride my horse, drive a car etc. My dr put me on Bentyl but I don't think its really helping. I also get this weird feeling. Sounds crazy, but I often - usually before and during a pain attack - get this weird feeling....like if you were to press your fingers on the big carotid arteries on both sides of your neck. I know, sounds crazy, but I get that feeling a lot. I am only 28, and emberressed to tell anyone about my " chest pains " It also doesnt help that I got the Croup from my son a month or so ago, and I am still sniffling and coughing stuff up. Well, thanks for letting me vent.
