Guest guest
Hi Sara, Lots of doctors tell people to take their magnesium at night because it's supposed to have a sedative affect (remember, magnesium relaxes). But when I first started taking magnesium, I could never take it after 7:00 pm. If I did, I'd be up mopping floors until 2:00 am! Sometimes I couldn't even take it later than 5:00 pm. But oddly, there have been several times that I've had a tremendous headache before bed, or have awakened in the middle of the night with a bad sinus headache. I'll take two ibuprofen and two Solgar magnesium glycinate, and be out like a light in no time at all (but ibuprofen does make me very sleepy anyway. Does this happen to anyone else?!) I'm curious what type of magnesium(s) you're taking. Maybe you get plenty of magnesium from your multi and Mg/Ca tablet and naturally through foods so don't need the 250 mg. tablet? I have some chronic health issues and I tend to lead a high stress life at times (which is a huge waster of magnesium). Also, I drink 1- 2 cups of coffee in the morning, which depletes magnesium. And... sometimes I eat too much sugar (I adore ice cream!) and that depletes magnesium too. So I think I'm one of those people who simply needs no less than 650 mg. magnesium from supplements (don't know how much I get from water and food). Kim > Hi Kim, > I saw you were posting again.
