Guest guest
Karyn, Thanks for the advise. I never gave that a thought, especially because of the mood I was in at the time. Although, during that time, 2 other docs on the floor said I was fine and I could go home that day. Since they were so eager to be rid of me, I thought nothing of it when I said fine, and signed myself out. Of course, the physician that was treating me, had no idea of what his 2 partners were saying to me, etc. He was shocked the next day when I phoned his office for an emergency visit, because the pain was still through the roof. He did see me right away, and gave me some pain meds. The hospital would not give me anything for pain when I left. I had been on morphine every 4 hours for 2 days and they said " no way " for dispensing more meds ! I did have a very nice nurse on duty the night I signed myself out, and she got me one oxycotin pill and told me to take it when I got back to my hotel. It did help things out until I got in to see my doc the next day. It was one of those " nightmare " times that we all store in the back of our minds. Thank goodness I don't go to that hospital anymore. Kris in TN
