Do it now? What is it? ============================================== I believe that many of us develop this behavior to prevent the " looks " we get from others or the well-meaning or nasty comments we get from others. Those with kind parents hear " are you sure you want to eat that. " Or " I can't believe you are still hungry after all you just ate. " Nasty people say that you are eating like a pig. But it is all the same thing. So we learn to be " closet eaters. " Coping with the emotional aspects of craving food, one day at a time. Guest guest
Oh Heavens yes! And I wasn't obese as a child or even a teen. But I snuck things like the diet candies we all ate with warm water just before dinner to cut our appetites (the chocolate mint ones were the best!) and granulated sugar....by the spoonful!! Also maple syrup...and chocolate syrup and if I didn't have chocolate syrup I would take teaspoons full of chocolate powder and some sugar and hot water and mix it together.....just to get my fix! Talk about a major sweet tooth! I was so active that I never gained an ounce (dance roller skater...practice at the rink about 3-6 hours almost daily). Guess, what.....as an adult (and on the pill) even though I was roller skating the same amount of time...I gained. And continued to gain. Lost a lot to WW, several times and regained. By then the sneaking food had stopped and so did the vast amounts of sweets, but my metabolism was ruined by yo-yo dieting. Still roller skating at 275 pounds...an not losing an ounce. And eating less then I ever did as a child. Guest guest
I just wondered if anyone else has an issue with their child sneaking food. My main thing is I live with family and my so is very quick and will grab their food while they eat. I am trying to move this summer, because it often is tedious to have to always monitor what they eat and him. I am a little upset because one of the family members I stay with is totally non supportive of this diet, even though he is progressing rather well, and also won't read the literature given.
