Kimber has good advice, start at a low dose and slowly increase it. Also the

doctor had my husband take a baby aspirin 30 minute before taking the Niacin.

However in his case, he had to stop the Niacin as he was having BIG time hot

flashes. ( Now he is very sympathetic with me when I am hot !) Also you can not

take Niacin with certain Satin drugs like Crestor etc. But the key is the

aspirin and to slowly titrate your Niacin dose up, and I mean slowly like over 6

weeks. I work with a cardilogist about once a month and that is what he advises

as well.

Just thought that I would pop in while I had a chance. Hope all is well as can

be with everyone. I am doing OK, still working fulltime and managing my SOD.

Good days and bad days, but feel blessed that I can work.

Miss you all,

Lily RN from OHio

Lily,

how are you doing? As you can see from my post, I'm behind in reading

and replying to the posts. I hope you are doing okay. I've been having a

very bad week this week. Pain has been bad, but not quite bad enough to

go to the ER, just bad enough to hurt and have to take extra pain

medication. I hope the pain goes down soon or I'm going to have to ask

the doctor to increase the pain medication. I hope your family is dong

well too. Keep in touch.

Kimber
