Guest guest
Hello Again, My son was on amino acid therapy that I really liked. I took him off of it because it had rice flour as a binder. I spoke with our clinical nutritionist and she said we could have the supplements custom made with acidophilus instead of rice flour. This doesn't sit well in my stomach (no pun intended:) ) Any suggestions for a filler to replace the rice flour? I sent her the list of legal and illegal additives for supplements but if there was one in particular that I could suggest, that would be great. Thanks! Guest guest
Why would you not be okay with acidophilus as a filler? SCD kids are supposed to be taking supplemental acidophilus anyway. Guest guest
Yes but would I then stop giving him the scdopholis and is acidophilus as filler a different thing than scdopholis. I guess I am unclear how they make the acidophilus as a filler, doesn't it have to be in the fridge and what are the ingredients of acidophilus filler. Surely it isn't just the bugs they have to bind it to something. Acidophilus isn't listed on the legal additive list. Hinojosa 3yr old boy, ASD, Began SCD Feb 14, 2007 Acidopholis legal? Guest guest
Well, true.... it's not usually used as just a supp additive. And you bring up some very good points.... You'd want to know exactly what else, if anything, was in the acidphilus. And SCDophilus is non-dairy, but many acidophilus supps are not. And yes, it's the usual thing to keep acidophilus refridgerated. A compounding pharmacy should be able to use any of the legal additives to make that amino acid formula up for you. Might be spendy, though. Patti [Norton AntiSpam] Re: Acidopholis legal? Why would you not be okay with acidophilus as a filler? SCD kids are supposed to be taking supplemental acidophilus anyway.
