their decision? And how long does it take to get your back benefits?

How long until you start getting your monthly checks? I've heard

that this part of the process can take an unduly long time.

While I'm sure it depends on the case load for an area, I think you will be

notified within 30 days. If approved for SSDI, you will get back benefits for

the appropriate time about 30 days after notification. Generally, the amount

you owe the lawyer is deducted from these benefits and sent directly to the

lawyer. Your monthly check will generally start during the same time as your

back

benefits and the monthly time cycle wI think is dependent on some unknown item

like zip code, or the first letter of your last name or something else. That

just spreads the monthly check generation over the month to ease the work load

for the gumment.
