Guest guest
Hi there, What did the doctors say is causing his high ammonia levels? Is it proteins? My nephew has a metabolic condition that causes this to happen. But once they gave him a liver transplant he was fine. This truly should concern you. Ammonia can damage the brain and cause permanent retardation and lowering of his IQ. Has he been to a metabolic specialist at the Children's Hospital in your area? I strong would suggest that you do this, if he hasn't. Antoinette and family of five (SCD 2/06)
