Guest guest
Kristie, Do you mean that you're now on day 8 of the intro diet, since you restarted intro? If not, how many days has it been since you re-started? Intro should not be done for more than just a couple of days..... five days MAX. When did he start feeling super cranky and having the other symptoms. This sounds like classic die-off symptoms. Are you giving him baths with epsom salts? This will help. Also, supplements of activated charcoal can help sop up toxins and make him more comfortable. I am not aware of any Hansen's juices being legal. I would stick to the Welch's. patti Problem with lots of gas, watery stool frequent..intro diet Okay all please help. We have my son on day eight and we are on the intro diet. (we did several days first of almond flours and such but others instructed me to go back to the intro diet.) Here is my problem. My son is on these foods: chicken pancakes chicken soup/broth hamburger patties, (won't touch gelatin) eggs scrambled. He does drink juice heavily diluted with water. The juices he has are: white grape juice from Welches and or Hansens. The boy loves to drink! He drinks often through the day and I try to dilute more and more with water. He has been super cranky. He has been heavily perservating which is unlike him (only wants to watch Ice Age 1 or 2 for instance and cries and screams when we go out all of the sudden..but it is cold here in So California, and when ABA instructors come here.) He is having heavy gas throughout the day and frequent stools that are watery. Would someone please email me back and help me on what to do! Or give me a call Kristie Aidan 3.
Guest guest
Kristie We are on 2 months now with my son and he loves to drink as well. I have come to the conclusion that he is doing so to fill himself up. He still asks for waffles, cheese (he's GFCF too) and other things he can't have. So because he doesn't want to eat what is available, he will instead drink. When we come home from the sitter's house sometimes I fill his cup up 3 times (mostly water of course). The super cranky is probably because his little body is going through detox---and quite frankly - it sucks! Gavin had the shakes, was fussy etc... He also starting doing more of the behaviors that I started the diet for- stimming, zoning out, perseverating. Patti explained, probably better than I will here, that as the stuff is being starved out in his gut, it starts to go into panic mode and producing more trying to stay alive, hence the more bad stuff kicking around the more behaviors you are going to see. We also had a phase of " gassiness " and woooo was is powerful. We still have occasional days of stinkiness. I was told not to be really alarmed by it. Some may have more info on this than I. The eggs may be contributing if he is eating alot. We didn't have watery stools, however, they did go " watery mashed potato style " but became normal about week 3. We assume a couple of things are happening. One is that gut pathogens will certainly send out their little chemical " messages " telling our kids to " GO FIND FOOD " (meaning, the foods THEY need to survive)... so cravings will kick in big time for some. They are DESPERATE! Secondly, the bacteria also give off extra toxin as they die.... just releasing toxin they normally produce all the time, but when they croak altogether, you get a big influx of that same toxin flooding the system. For whatever reason,..... these kids definitely have to deal with extra toxins as these big bad guys take their last gasp. But, most importantly, it's temporary. Guest guest
Kristie, I wanted to also mention that you might want to introduce an essential fatty acid supplement(EFA). Nordic Naturals makes good quality products, and I've heard that some on our list use a brnd called Green Pastures. We saw increased eye contact and language when we started it. A good fish oil supplement will cross the blood/brain barrier and helps to reduce inflammation as well. Not to mention that EFAs are essential for brain development. Nordic Naturals Complete Omega 3,6,9 is a good one that covers everything. You can probably get it at a local health food store, or you can order it from Kirkman, Nordic Naturals themselves, and a host of other places. If you want to list any other meds or supps that he's taking to see if others can help you determine whether or not they are SCD legal or maybe even undermining to SCD, feel free. There are a couple of moms on this list that are especially gifted at that kind of thing.
